Professional History

Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian character actor, writer and producer known for his performances in comedies and action films, such as Andrew Paxton in The Proposal, Guy in Free Guy, Detective Pikachu in Pokémon Detective Pikachu, Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity, and Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

In 2011, he starred as Hal Jordan in the critically panned DC film Green Lantern, as well as its tie-in video game, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters. Despite meeting his future wife Blake Lively while working on the movie, Reynolds called it one of the most miserable filming experiences of his career, and would repeatedly mock it for years to come.

Five years later, Reynolds found his greatest financial and critical success ever playing the antihero Deadpool in the superhero satire films Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Deadpool & Wolverine, which he also produced and the latter two of which he co-wrote. These films were full of scathing satire and mocking of the superhero genre in film, as well as plenty of jabs at Green Lantern and Reynolds' previous attempt to play Deadpool in X-Men Origins.
