HistoryEdit

Flayt is a Tristram power-ray, a massive creature resembling an Earth manta-ray, but more comparable in size to a whale. During the Tristram-Zanner Imperial War, Flayt left hundreds of ships stranded without energy or life by latching onto their sides and draining their power. It is not known if Flayt came into conflict with the Green Lantern of Sector 2751, M’Dahna.

Flayt was present on Qward when Kyle Rayner was abducted and stripped of the Ion entity. Flayt was later with the Sinestro Corps high above Earth’s atmosphere, fighting the Green Lantern Corps. When last seen, Flayt was battling the equally huge Green Lantern Sqweeegg.

Flayt was most recently part of an ambush upon the Green Lantern Corps. A number of Green Lanterns were bringing Sinestro back to his homeworld of Korugar for execution. The Sinestro Corps attempted to free their leader, but was attacked in turn by the Red Lanterns who wanted to kill Sinestro themselves. The fate of Flayt has yet to be revealed.

Powers and AbilitiesEdit

  • Qwardian Power Ring: Members of the Sinestro Corps use yellow power rings built on Qward. The rings can create objects based on the wielders own thoughts. The power rings are fuelled by fear instead of willpower. The yellow rings are charged by Manhunter androids that have yellow power batteries built into themselves, which in turn are connected to a large yellow Power Battery based on Qward. The rings have no known weaknesses, unlike a Green Lantern power ring's previous vulnerability to yellow. Also, the yellow rings are not restricted from killing sentient beings as the Green Lantern's power rings were.
