Synopsis for "The Mark of the Demon"

Jonah Hex reflected on his young adult life from the moment he joined the Confederacy, till the time he killed Noh-Tante in a duel trying to prove that the Chief's son betrayed him and left him for dead years ago. Killing the Chief's son resulted not in him regaining the Chief's trust but rather a punishment from him, the Mark of the Demon. He recalled half his face getting burned that day, then woke from his slumber to help a girl who was kidnapped by the Apache. While escaping he encounter the French lord who sought to turn him into the authorities for bounty but the Frenchman had a change of heart and sacrificed his life fighting off the Apache while Jonah and the girl escaped.
