Elpis is a planet in the known universe that is orbited by multiple moons and became the new home of the Blue Lantern Corps. After the Sinestro Corps War, the Guardians of the Universe Ganthet and Sayd both decided that the power of Hope would be needed in the coming War of Light. These Blue Lanterns became based on the planet Odym that served as their base of operations and where new recruits were trained in the use of the Blue Lantern Power Ring. Following the War of The Green Lanterns, the Guardians of Oa began their plan to destroy their own Green Lantern Corps and replace it with The Third Army. During this time, the Reach were informed of the location of Odym where they invaded in large numbers that overwhelmed the defenders. In order to protect the Blue Lantern Central Power Battery, Kyle Rayner urged Saint Walker and his comrades to abandon their homeworld. Thus, they took the Central Power Battery and moved it to the newly discovered world of Elpis.
The Fall of The Blue Lantern Corps
The planet was visited by the ancient Relic who intended to eliminate the threat posed by the Emotional Spectrum. To achieve this goal, he decided to first target the Blue Light of Hope where he drained the Central Power Battery and eliminated the Blue Lantern Corps. This left only Saint Walker the only survivor who had managed to escape with the aid of White Lantern Kyle Rayner.
- Elpis had many moons. Six moons at least.
